Most of the purpose-built student accommodation in Bradford is covered by the ANUK/Unipol National Codes, which means that the day to day management meets with the highest of standards within the sector.
Regular checks are made of all members of these Codes, with at least one development operated by providers being visited at least once every 3 years.
Which are the recommended halls in Bradford?
Recently it was deemed necessary to complete visits to ALL of the developments in Bradford that are within membership of the Codes. These visits revealed that the following members were found to be compliant with the relevant Codes:
Unipol Student Homes (Doris Birdsall Hall)
University of Bradford (The Green)
IQ (Arkwright Halls)
Kexgill Ltd (Kexgill Tower & Kexgill House)
Sanctuary Students (Wardley House)
Alpha Student Management Ltd (Longside House & Horton House)
Students looking for purpose-built accommodation are therefore recommended to rent ONLY a room in one of those developments which have been listed above.
Who is not recommended?
Unipol, the University of Bradford and Bradford College all recommend that students only rent from halls covered by the National Codes.
- Malik Halls (which also operates Trigg Halls) in Bradford is currently suspended from the National Codes following a student complaint and therefore it is recommended that students rent from other halls where possible. Details about Malik Hall’s suspension can be found on the National Codes website.
- Laisteridge Student Village under new operational management (Hill and Standard) and has not applied to re-join.
- Lennon House applied to join but awaiting additional checks.
